Down in Trinidad’s 2013 carnival lane, Intercol Riddim lands with that bright, forward-driving soca pulse Precision and AdvoKit were working in at the time: skittering percussion, hard kicks, and enough synth muscle to keep the tempo wired for fetes. Bunji Garlin’s “Journey Continues” brings the grit, Machel Montano’s “Energy High” pushes the whole thing into peak-season mode, and Kerwin Du Bois and Nadia Batson keep it glossy and melodic without softening the edge. The instrumental version makes the pattern easy to hear, all snap and pressure with a clean arrangement that leaves room for the vocal hooks to jump out. It sits neatly in that early-2010s soca moment when riddim projects were built for road energy first, with every tune aimed straight at the dance.
