Dub Troubles Driver Riddim – Fat Bird Recordings

Short and sharp, this one arrives with a straight digital pulse and just four cuts to its name. Fat Bird Recordings keeps the Driver riddim tight: George Palmer and Kobo Dadda handle the opening vocal side on “Driver, ” then Dub Troubles folds it back into the dub version, while Tenor Youthman and Ranking Choora take over on “Farmer Man Style” before the final dub pass closes the set. The whole EP leans into that modern UK-rooted reggae feel, more lean and mechanical than flashy, with the bass doing plenty of the talking. Released on January 6, 2016, it’s really the vocal pairing on “Farmer Man Style” that leaves the strongest mark, with Tenor Youthman and Ranking Choora riding the rhythm in a way that gives the riddim its memorable lift.
