Bare Klass took a different route here, handing Kabaka Pyramid a full-feature showcase instead of the usual multi-artist juggling act, and the result is a run of rootsy, conscious cuts with just a few guest turns to break the spell. “Life Is Easy, ” “No Capitalist, ” and “Change This World” set the tone with Kabaka in sharp, reasoning mode, while “Strive” with Exco Levi and “Fly Di Gate” with Tarrus Riley add extra pull without breaking the record’s steady, meditative feel. The production keeps a clean reggae pulse underneath it all, with enough space for the vocals to breathe and the message to land, and the 2016 set also folds in acoustic versions of “No Capitalist, ” “Teach Di Youths, ” and “Warrior” on the expanded sequence.
