Dreams Riddim (2017) – Street Digital Records

“Dreams Riddim” keeps its footing in straight-up reggae, but the writing across the six cuts gives it a sharper edge than the title suggests. Anthony Ynot opens the set with “Follow Mi Dream, ” a fitting lead-off, while Keron Williams turns in “The People” and Mad Linqz goes a little more topical on “Black Lives Matter, ” pushing the riddim into socially conscious territory without losing its groove. Spoila Ranks’ “Keep Your Light Shining” and Sweet Sapp’s “I Care” lean into uplift and conscience, with the Street Digital instrumental sitting neatly in the middle as a clean showcase for the production. It’s a compact 2017 set, and the strongest pull comes from Anthony Ynot’s dream-chasing vocal, which sets the tone before the rest of the voices start arguing their case.
