Distance Riddim – Caribbean Music

By 2017, reggae riddim projects were still leaning hard on compact vocal showcases, and Distance Riddim fits that moment with just four cuts and no wasted space. Produced by Caribbean Music, the set keeps the focus on contrast rather than volume: Zamunda’s “Trixter” brings Xklusive into the mix, while Iq’s “Sefish Minded” and Diligence’s “Give You Praise” sit closer to the rootsy, message-driven end of the spectrum. Shemdon closes with “Naa Vote, ” which gives the whole sequence a sharper political edge than the title might suggest. With only four singers on the riddim, the producer seems to have wanted each song to land cleanly on its own, and the order moves from collaboration to conscience to praise before ending on that vote-conscious final cut.
