Brace Up Riddim lands in that steady mid-2010s roots-reggae pocket, all about warm one-drop feel and a modest four-track spread that keeps the focus on the singers rather than studio excess. Nu Jam Records keeps the production clean and uncluttered, giving Leroy Simmonds room to stretch out on “Love And Mercy” and the title cut “Brace Up Riddim, ” while Tad Hunter’s “Good Loving” and Colour T’s “Life Is So Precious” add a bit of variety without breaking the mood. It’s a small lineup, just three voices across the set, but that’s enough to give the riddim some shape and personality. The release came out in 2017 and runs with four tracks in total.
