Purpose Riddim – Open Doors Records

From the Jamaican roots side of 2021, Open Doors Records kept the Purpose Riddim compact and vocal-focused, with five cuts rather than a sprawling compilation. Shanpelle opens with “Flowers On A Sunday, ” Jason Bromfield takes the title slot, and Don Roye, Break Free, and Singer J each lean into different shades of conscious reggae without the riddim ever losing its calm, mid-tempo roll. Bromfield’s own “Purpose Riddim” track sits right at the center of the set, which gives the release a neat anchor point instead of an overstuffed sequence. Open Doors Records issued it on December 10, 2021, and the lineup stays tight enough that every song gets room to breathe.
