Dirty Memories Riddim – J1 Productions

Jah Vinci’s “Cruise” gives Dirty Memories Riddim its cleanest hook, and J1 Productions surrounds it with a neat little dancehall spread that leans hard into lovers’ tension and bedroom talk. Vershon’s “Te Amo” pushes the biggest left turn, with that Spanish-flavoured flirtation giving the riddim a broader, more melodic pull, while Laden’s “Bun Har Man” and Eshconinco’s “Punany Professional” keep the energy firmly on the street side. The set dropped in late 2017 and came through as an 18-song compilation on the J1 Productions/Konsequence Muzik imprint, but the tracklist’s core feels tighter than the numbers suggest. Still, it’s Jah Vinci who leaves the sharpest mark here, riding the riddim with the kind of cool, clipped confidence that keeps “Cruise” hanging in the air after the rest of the project has moved on.
