Belly Bounce Riddim – Cornelius Records

Cornelius Records kept Belly Bounce moving in that light-footed, waistline-friendly lane, with Harry Toddler’s “Woei Woei Brazil” and the Ganggoolie/Sekklez cut “Belly Roll” giving the set its sharpest early bounce before Razor B, Fambo and Jade Face, Spotlight and Byll Gatez each step in with their own take on the pattern. The riddim came out in 2017 and was issued as an eight-song various-artists set on Cornelius Records, with the familiar dancehall juggling format letting each voice ride the same groove without crowding the mix. It’s the kind of release that lives on contrast: cheeky titles, nimble cadences, and a beat built to keep bodies in motion rather than sit heavy on them. By the time it closes on Byll Gatez’s “Like The Way You, ” the whole thing has settled into a compact 21-minute run.
