Di Jugglin Overview

The roots project known as Di Jugglin Riddim came out in Jamaica in 2017. It brought together a group of respected reggae and dancehall artists, each adding their own style to the classic roots sound. The tracks on this release mix conscious lyrics with rhythms inspired by reggae’s golden era. Mr Vegas, a well-known figure in dancehall and reggae, is featured here with the song "Dream Girl." Mr Vegas is famous for his 1998 hit "Heads High," which topped charts in Jamaica and made waves internationally. Ian Sweetness contributes "Frankie Paul Medley," showing his smooth vocal style and respect for reggae history. Marquis Sklenar brings a fresh voice to the riddim with "One & Only," helping to bridge generations within the genre. Ed Robinson, who is known for his cover of "Knocking On Heaven’s Door," appears on the project with "Baby I Will Be There." Jack Radics, whose single "No Matter" with Chaka Demus reached UK charts in the early 1990s, delivers "Ready Back" on this release. Each artist brings their own flavor, but all stay true to the roots message. The foundation of Di Jugglin Riddim was built by a producer with deep roots in reggae, who kept the arrangements true to old-school vibes while giving each song a modern polish. The dub cut from this project, released in 2021, is remembered as a standout cultural work, blending instrumental skill with classic reggae atmosphere. This project stands as a strong example of roots reggae’s lasting power and message.
