Chilla Music’s Desi Rock Riddim sits a little leaner and more roots-minded than the title might suggest, leaning into a steady, dubby one-drop feel rather than any flashy gimmick. Ginjah’s “Damn Those People” and Lutan Fyah’s “Never Once” give it the sharpest edge, while Natty King and Nature keep the pressure on with conscious lyrics about corruption, struggle and stalled progress. It’s a tidy nine-cut 2007 juggling, and the instrumental version at the top sets the tone without overstating it, letting Teflon’s “Nuh Progress” close the set on the same grim, purposeful note.
