Contest Riddim – Fwi Music

A bright, competition-ready soca cut with a tough waistline and plenty of ring-the-bell energy, Contest Riddim keeps its focus tight across just four tracks from FWI Music in 2013. Bunji Garlin opens with the sharp-edged No Dirty Mouth, General Degree slides in with the cheekier Ride It Good, and Problem Child gets two lanes to himself, first linking with Ronnie Homer on Plenty Everything before closing solo on Most Waist. The set leans more toward party drive than straight-up carnival frenzy, with the vocals doing most of the heavy lifting over a short, efficient run time. Problem Child’s Most Waist feels like the one that leaves the deepest mark, a fitting final turn for a riddim built to keep the crowd moving.
