By the time Dexta Daps turns up twice on “We A Rave, ” the Colour Summer Riddim has already settled into that bright, hard-edged 2015 dancehall pocket VA Records seemed to like working in: crisp drums, a cheeky summer-time feel, and enough room for Blakk Man’s “Bad Gyal” and Iyara’s “Party Broad Daylight” to land with their own personality. Peppery’s “My Year” keeps the energy moving, while Juss Craig and Dejavu’s “Summer Time” nudges the mood a little lighter without losing the bounce. Issued by VA Records on July 7, 2015, the set runs eight tracks in all, including the instrumental and the two versions of Dexta Daps’ cut.
