Chain Riddim – Niyahfyah Records

Back in 2021, when dancehall was still leaning hard on crisp digital riddims and lean vocal showcases, Niyahfyah Records kept Chain Riddim tight and to the point: just two songs plus the instrumental, all clocking in as a compact RV Beatz set. The beat has that sharp, forward-driving pulse that leaves plenty of room for the voices, and Red Lion aka Redda Fella’s “Bulls Eye” and Ras Victory’s “Mi Own Man” each ride it with a different angle, one a little more direct, the other more rooted in self-definition. What really seals it is the closing instrumental mix, which lets the pattern breathe on its own and underlines how much of the project’s pull comes from the riddim itself rather than any excess around it.
