Raw and rowdy, the Bruk Wild Riddim came out of Black Spyda Records in July 2013 with a lean four-track promo run that hit hard rather than trying to overstuff the lane. Aidonia’s “F*%K A Hold Mi” leads the pack with that sharp, brash energy he was leaning into around this period, while Laden’s “Set It Suh” and Munga’s “Push Pull” keep the pace brisk and dancefloor-minded over a cut that sits around 117 BPM. Compared with some of Black Spyda’s busier mid-2010s juggling, this one feels tighter and more stripped back, almost like a quick strike before the fuller version of the riddim expanded later on. In the label’s catalogue, Bruk Wild sits neatly among those gritty dancehall projects that were built for DJs first, with just enough hooky pressure to carry a session.
