Rolando Blake keeps Brave Heart Riddim rooted in churchyard dancehall, but the lineup gives it a more reflective edge than your average juggling. Released in 2012 on RB Records, the eight-track set moves between exhortation and testimony: Lypher’s “Big” comes in with force, Prayz and Jason Providence both lean into the title phrase from different angles, and Redeem’s “Inna Church” pushes the spiritual angle even further. Around them, Iam Churchboy’s “Preserve And Seek The Truth” and Json’s “Sold Out” keep the message front and center, so the riddim ends up sounding like a sermon with a bassline. The strongest cut is Jason Providence’s “Man A Brave Heart, ” where the hook lands clean and Rolando Blake’s production gives it just enough room to breathe without losing the snap.
