Boat Riddim (2011) – Weapon X International

Weapon X International was clearly in a run of sharp, name-check-heavy dancehall riddims around this period, and Boat Riddim sits right in that pocket with nine cuts and no dead weight. Arofat’s “Get Bad” and Bryko’s “Start War” set the tone early: brash, confrontational, and built for a sound system stepper rather than anything polished or sweet. Mr Glamarus’ “Caan Handle” is the one that keeps coming back to the forefront, while Trigga’s “Come” and Rseenal’s explicit “Drop Soap” push the energy into more unruly territory. It’s the sort of 2011 juggling that leans hard on attitude and quick-hit hooks, with Weapon X keeping the whole thing tight and rowdy, and that little YouTube-era footnote at the end says plenty about the moment.
