A compact eight-track set with a curious crossover cast, Apologize Riddim folds One Republic and Nelly Furtado into the same Don Corleon dancehall frame as Munga, Gyptian, Vybz Kartel, Mavado and Busy Signal. Don Corleon was already well established by 2008 as one of Kingston’s sharper riddim makers, and here he leans into a pop-sampling concept that gives the whole sequence a slick, radio-minded feel without losing the street edge. Munga’s “Bad Form Mi Born (Remix)” and Kartel’s “Tek Fuck” hit hardest on the Jamaican side, while the One Republic cuts frame the project’s hook: familiar melodies pulled through a dancehall filter. The ordering keeps the vocals moving between local names and the crossover references, before landing on a clean version cut that closes the circle.
