Bmw 340 Riddim – Jason Imanuel

Short, sticky dancehall energy runs through BMW 340 Riddim, Jason Imanuel’s 2021 juggling built on a lean seven-track set with nine artists cutting across the same driving groove. The titles do a lot of the talking here: Trinidad Mad Man and Makkie’s “Hop” sets the pace, DJ Cheem’s “Bop It” keeps the bounce playful, and Nassis’ “Throw It Back” leans into the waistline pull that runs through the whole project. Megabite, Blackboy, and the Big Shenn/Iamroyston pairing push it further into late-night party territory, while Imanuel closes things out with the instrumental. Coming out in a year when stripped-down, dance-ready dancehall was still getting plenty of mileage, this one keeps its focus tight and its bassline ready for the dance.
