Vacay Riddim – King Levels Records

King Levels Records’ Vacay Riddim came out of the 2021 dancehall run with a breezy but sharp-edged feel, the kind of mid-tempo groove that leaves room for the vocals to cut through while the bass keeps things moving. The five-song set leans on a tidy mix of names and energy: Boasy’s “Believe Me” sets the tone, Emynenx rides the pocket on “Money Affi Mek, ” and Hot Frass teams with Gabbidon on “The Vibe” for the most immediate hook in the bunch. Munga Honorable’s “Wi Nuh Fraid, ” alongside Kweffa, brings the tougher side of the project, while Spring Wata closes it out with “Come Back. ” It’s a compact one-riddim release that fits neatly into that 2021 wave of lean, digital dancehall projects built for quick replay and selector use.
