BLACK LEATHER RIDDIM produced by SEANIZZLE RECORDS 2014
Black Leather Overview
In 2014, the Black Leather Riddim brought together some of dancehall’s most exciting voices. Beenie Man, known worldwide for his hit “Who Am I (Sim Simma),” added his song “Brand New Money Me A Spend” to the mix. Blak Ryno, who first became famous with the Portmore Empire, gave fans “No Man.” Bugle, respected for his thoughtful lyrics and songs like “Journey,” delivered “Nah Fight Fi Nuh Gal.” The riddim also featured Cubanis with “Dem Nuh Bad” and Dexta Daps, whose career took off after “Morning Love,” with “Head Ina Di Bag.” The selector’s choice for this riddim was special. DJs across Jamaica and beyond played these tracks in their sets, making the Black Leather Riddim a dancehall favorite that year. The songs were supported by a strong lineup, including Future Fambo & Craig (Voicemail) with “Lift,” I Octane with “Killa” and “Sinner,” Jah Vinci’s “Still A Hold On,” and Kalado’s “Nuh Fraid A People.” Bringing it all together was SEANIZZLE RECORDS. The producer, Seanizzle, is known for creating popular dancehall riddims like “One Day Riddim” and has worked with many top artists in the genre. Even today, the Black Leather Riddim brings back memories of 2014’s dancehall energy and parties. The combination of artists and Seanizzle’s production made it a standout moment in dancehall history.
