Bad Influence Riddim (2013) – Martian Music

Martian Music kept this one tight: just three cuts, three voices, and no dead space, which makes Bad Influence Riddim feel more like a quick Carnival-style showcase than a sprawling compilation. Nadia Batson’s title tune has the kind of confident hook that sticks after one spin, while Lyrikal’s Part Ah Yuh Nature leans into the playful, teasing side of soca. Ki’s Professor Feter brings a more character-driven angle, giving the riddim a little extra personality in the mix. The production sits in that bright, jumping Trinidad lane, with enough bounce to carry the songs without crowding them. Released in 2013, it landed right in the middle of that era when compact soca riddims were doing plenty with just a few well-chosen artistes.
