conscious lyrics, a roots-heavy delivery, and a steady stream of
music that has kept him a familiar voice in modern Caribbean
reggae. Born Anthony Martin in Spanish Town, St. Catherine Parish,
he came up through the Bobo Shanti Rastafari tradition and built
his reputation on songs that blend spiritual conviction with
streetwise realism. Before committing fully to music, he studied
architecture at the University of Technology in Jamaica and played
football at a competitive level, but by the late 1990s he was
focused on recording and performing.
