Johnny Osbourne

Errol Osbourne was born in 1948 and he attended Alpha Boys School, an orphanage in Kingston, Jamaica which was also home to artists like Yellowman. In 1967, Osbourne became the lead vocalist in the group ‘The Wildcats’ and they recorded for producer Winston Riley. In 1969, he debuted when they recorded at Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One which gave us his debut single “All I Have Is Love”. That same year he recorded the album “Come Back Darling” for Riley and immediately after completing the project he left for Toronto where he became lead vocalist for a group called Ishan People and recorded two albums with them before returning to Jamaica in 1979. Upon returning, he recorded “Jealousy”, “Heartache and Pain”, “Forgive Them” and the album “Truths and Rights”. A series of releases followed including “Innah Disco Style”, “Warrior”, “Fally Lover” and “Never Stop Fighting”. Some of his other hits include “Lend Me A Chopper”, “Yo Yo”, “Check For You”, “Get Cracking”, “Rewind”, “In The Area”, “Buddy Bye”, “No Sound Like We”, “Good Time Rock”, “Rude Boy Skank”, “Unity”, “Keep That Light” and “A We Run Things”.
