ANACONDA RIDDIM produced by JAMDOWN RECORDS 2001
Anaconda Overview
In 2001, dancehall music was booming with energy. Fans wanted rhythms that could keep a party moving all night. That’s when JAMDOWN RECORDS stepped in with a yard beat built for the dance floor. This label was already well known for pushing out strong dancehall riddims and helping new voices get heard in Jamaica and beyond. JAMDOWN RECORDS brought together some of dancehall’s most exciting artists for this release. Bling Dawg, who later became known for his hit “Krazy” with Vybz Kartel, gave us “Cut And Go Through”—a track packed with attitude and style. Cecile Don Yute teamed up for “Get It On,” blending Cecile’s signature vocals with Don Yute’s smooth delivery. Cecile is famous for songs like “Can You Do the Work” with Sean Paul, showing her skill in collaborations. Chico’s “Dont Burn Your Bridges” brought his unique voice to the mix. Chico is recognized for working with big names like Beenie Man in his career. Fiona Kiprich added a soulful touch with “Need Good Loving.” Fiona has often been praised for her powerful voice in the dancehall scene. Sean Paul, who would soon become an international superstar with his album “Dutty Rock,” delivered “Watch Dem Melt Away.” At that time, Sean Paul was already gaining attention for his energetic flow. Tanto Metro Devonte rounded out the set with “Tell A Gal No,” adding their classic style. This collection stood out in 2001, keeping the dancehall party spirit alive and strong.
