Aircraft Riddim – Chimney Records

Chimney Records came through with Aircraft Riddim as a clean, modern dancehall juggling that sat right in the lane the Kingston production house has spent years shaping: bright, polished, and built for the road as much as the streaming era. The set landed in November 2019, and the label’s Jordan McClure and David Hayle were the names behind the board. By then, Chimney had already earned a reputation for slick, melody-minded riddims and for moving comfortably between street dancehall and crossover-ready records.

Aircraft rides on a sharp, bouncy pattern with enough space for each voicing to cut through, and the whole thing has that clipped, airborne feel the title suggests. Aidonia opens hard with “Aircraft, ” bringing his seasoned, aggressive tone to the rhythm. Govana’s “Up Front” keeps the energy high and was one of the cuts that drew immediate attention. Ding Dong injects movement and playfulness on “Watch Dem, ” while Shenseea’s “Trick’a Treat” adds the kind of confident, teasing edge that has helped her become one of dancehall’s most visible voices. Jahmiel’s “Money Money” brings a more reflective, melodic touch, and Chris Martin smooths things out on “Big Big” with his usual polished delivery. TeeJay’s “Draco, ” Intence’s “Dream Life, ” I Waata’s “Vexx, ” and Zagga’s “Keep Calm” help round out a juggling that keeps switching moods without losing its core bounce.

What makes Aircraft work is the balance: enough veteran weight, enough newer-school urgency, and a production style that leaves room for each artist to stamp their own personality on the same beat.
