Agastopia Riddim – Livewyah Records

Coming out of Livewyah Records in Brooklyn, Agastopia Riddim keeps the focus tight: four cuts, four voices, and no wasted space around the groove. It lands in that clean, modern dancehall pocket where the instrumental does a lot of the talking, leaving room for the songs to ride the rhythm with different angles. Ranico 197’s title track sets the tone with its own name stamped right on the riddim, while Eminoxx’s “Pull Up” and Chriso’s “One In A Million” push things in a more chant-ready direction. Shabako closes the circle with “When Yuh Whine, ” the track that leaves the sharpest aftertaste, all bounce and attitude over a compact, club-minded pattern.
