Five cuts, six voices, and a pretty tight little dancehall run is what Above Average Riddim gives you: Bussweh Audio keeps the focus on a compact set of singers, with Ell Gad’s “Trust Who” and Prince Pine’s “My G” doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The former has that wary, street-level tone that suits the title nicely, while “My G” leans more into friendly muscle and momentum, with Bussweh himself in the mix on the production side and on vocals throughout the project. Essence, Gold Mynd, and Vasky each get a turn too, so the riddim never feels overstuffed. It dropped in January 2021, though the promo cycle stretched a bit beyond that, which fits a release that feels more like a quick, self-contained dancehall run than a big campaign.
