Abx Overview
Abx Riddim came from Trinidad and Tobago in 2009. This soca riddim quickly became a favorite during carnival season. The sound of Abx Riddim filled the streets, making masqueraders and fans dance from morning to night. Several well-known artists brought their energy to this project. Bunji Garlin performed “De Live Song” on the riddim. Bunji Garlin is famous worldwide for his hit “Differentology,” which won the 2013 Soul Train Award for Best International Performance. Iwer George added his voice with “Blood In We.” Iwer George is known as the “King of Soca” and has won the Road March title in Trinidad and Tobago’s carnival three times. Shurwayne Winchester sang “Gyal Wine Up,” giving the riddim even more power. Shurwayne Winchester has also won the Road March and Soca Monarch titles in his career. Other artists made their mark as well. Rd performed “Gyal Wine Up,” while Prestan delivered “On De Bumper.” Each artist added a different style, but together, they created a true carnival soundtrack. Behind the scenes, the producer SW PRODUCTION played an important role. SW PRODUCTION is known for creating several popular soca riddims and has helped launch the careers of many Caribbean artists. Their work on Abx Riddim is still remembered for its creativity and strong island feeling. Even years later, fans remember 2009 as the year Abx Riddim ruled the parade. The songs and the artists still bring back memories of celebration and unity on the streets.
