Sankara Overview

In 2016, a group of musicians and producers gathered in the studio to create a reggae project that would connect new artists with the classic reggae sound. The producer, MAJOR P, led the creative process. Known for his spiritual approach to music, MAJOR P has built a reputation for blending roots reggae with modern elements. He has worked with several European reggae artists and is recognized for his work on the Sankara Riddim, which has gained attention on streaming platforms. MAJOR P wanted the music to carry a positive message and a strong rhythm. He used deep basslines, steady drum patterns, and echoing effects to give each track a dub-inspired feeling. This musical backdrop allowed each artist to shine while keeping the reggae tradition alive. Teddy Ziggy brought his thoughtful style to the song "Protect Yourself." He is known in the European reggae scene, especially for his album "New Day" released in 2011. Coppa Stone delivered "Anything In Life," sharing messages about hope and determination. Jerry contributed with "Africa," a song that reflects on heritage and unity. Puppa Yanis added warmth to the project with "Love Is Everything," focusing on the power of love in daily life. Ras Iwhan performed "I Know," bringing a soulful touch and honest lyrics. Together, these artists and MAJOR P’s direction created a musical backdrop that honored reggae’s roots while offering something fresh in 2016. The project showed that reggae could still surprise listeners and carry important messages forward.
