Martial Arts Pt. 2 arrived in 2002 under Kings Of Kings and Cordel “Scatta” Burrell, with Greensleeves giving it wider circulation through its Rhythm Album series. Burrell had already become one of dancehall’s sharpest ears, and this juggling carries that early-2000s energy: bright, clipped percussion, a tense melodic hook, and enough space in the cut to let voices cut hard against the rhythm.

The lineup reads like a snapshot of the era’s top-tier dancehall traffic. Beenie Man opens with “Bad Man Chi Chi, ” Bounty Killer answers with “Look Good, ” and the pair of Beenie Man and Gringo on “Get Yourself A Gun” adds extra sting. Elephant Man’s “The Bombing” brings the frantic party charge he was known for, while Anthony B’s “Talk Out” and Mr. Vegas’s “Big” keep the set firmly in the street-side social-commentary lane. Kiprich’s “New Law, ” Capleton and Jah Thunder’s “Fire, ” Madd Anju’s “Want You Now, ” and Tazz’s “Drop Dat Body” round out the rhythm with different shades of aggression, swagger, and dancefloor command.

The cuts that matter most are the ones that fit the riddim’s title and mood without forcing it. Capleton and Jah Thunder bring the kind of fire-and-brimstone pressure that makes the beat feel bigger, while Bounty Killer and Beenie Man handle the kind of veteran back-and-forth that could carry a whole session.
