19 Oh Long Overview
Back in 1995, dancehall was full of energy and new sounds. The 19 Oh Long Riddim was a big part of that time, bringing a yard beat that made people want to move. NOVEMBER RECORDS was behind this release. The label is known for pushing dancehall forward in the 1990s, helping many artists reach new fans. This riddim had some of the top names in dancehall on it. Elephant Man came in strong with “Tekkie Tekkie.” At that time, Elephant Man was building his career, and later he became famous for hits like “Pon De River, Pon De Bank.” Franky Sly delivered “Gal U Boasty.” He is well known for his song “Dwayne,” which was a big tune in the late 1990s. Glamor Murphy gave us “Mi Got The Cooler,” adding his unique style. Judah’s “Gal Fool” and Ken Serious with “Unity Is Strength” both brought conscious lyrics and vibes to the project. Ken Serious is respected for his roots reggae work, always focusing on unity and positive messages. Other artists also added their voices: Little Lenny with “No Love Nor Like,” Powerman with “Love How U A Gwaan,” and Red Dragon’s “Hise It Up.” Each track showed the strength of the riddim and the talent at that time.
