10000 Volt Riddim – Mackmilli Production

Mackmilli Production keeps 10, 000 Volt pointed squarely at hard-edged dancehall, but there’s a rough, street-level urgency to this one that feels more militant than glossy. Mackamilli had already framed the riddim as a return to a grungy underground sound, and the cast backs that up with names like Fantan Mojah, Karamanti, Determine and Dexta Daps cutting across the set. Dexta’s “Real Gallis” is the obvious radio-minded hook, while Fantan Mojah’s “Thirty Grand A Week” and Karamanti’s “We Nah Fail” keep the energy on the serious side. The sequence feels deliberate too: the tougher badman cuts lead into the more melodic and social tunes, then Mackamilli closes things out with “10, 000 Volt Olympic, ” like the producer leaving his own stamp at the end.
