ZONE 9 RIDDIM produced by MALAKHII RECORDS / WHISKY RECORDS 2019
Zone 9 Overview
When Zone 9 Riddim dropped in 2019, dancehall fans really took notice. The mix quickly became a favorite at parties and street dances. People loved how the riddim brought something fresh, but still kept that classic bashment vibe. It was one of the big highlights of dancehall that year. A big part of the buzz came from the artists who got their break on this riddim. Ash made a strong impression with “Dead Zone,” showing off sharp lyrics and a cool flow. Chikie Grainz added more energy with “Tek Time,” a track that had everyone moving. Kr Kinetic’s “Settle Down” also stood out, helping him build on his name after his earlier work on the “Money Plan” riddim. Letta Boss brought his own style with “Neverland,” while Nklyne kept things real on “Keep Going.” Nklyne would go on to gain more attention in the years after, especially with his song “Pleaza” in 2021, which hit the charts in Jamaica. The whole project was guided by MALAKHII RECORDS / WHISKY RECORDS. These producers are known for working with new talent and pushing dancehall forward. MALAKHII RECORDS has been behind several popular riddims, and they have a reputation for clean, hard-hitting production. Zone 9 Riddim helped launch these artists and gave fans a new anthem for the year. With its lively beats and standout songs, it’s easy to see why this mix was such a big moment for dancehall in 2019.
