Mk10 Riddim – Malakhii Records

By late June 2019, Malakhii Records was already leaning into that sharp, trap-tinged dancehall pocket with Mk10 Riddim, a compact five-track set that keeps the focus tight instead of crowding the rhythm. Bustyd gets two passes on “Reload, ” including the raw cut, while J’Sensation, Raspec1 and Bulbie each step in with their own angle, and “Inna Di City” lands with the kind of streetwise edge that suits the whole package. It sits close to the darker, more minimal side of Malakhii’s catalogue, and after the later Zone 9 release the label already had a clear lane for clipped drums, icy synth lines and rough-edged voices. Mk10 feels like one of the early statements that helped define that approach.
