Slipping in with a grim, stripped-down dancehall groove, Wreckage Riddim leans on a dark minor-key pulse and a tight, marching drum pattern that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through. Real Friends Record Production keeps the cast lean rather than overloaded, with Chikie Grainz on “Real Killaz, ” KASHNA and Blade Merital joining forces on “Fissin Dem, ” and Unknown Di Boss adding the blunt-edged “Ting a Work” to the set. There are seven tracks here, spread across nine artists, and the whole thing has that 2021 street-dance energy where the bass line carries the weight and the hook rides the pocket. “Rifle Behavior” and “Hawk” sit right in the middle of that tension, with a clipped, percussive feel that makes the riddim move like a low-slung convoy.
