Worried Riddim – In The Streetz Records

Worried Riddim came out of Kingston in 2004, when In The Streetz Records was turning out some of the sharper dancehall projects of the year, and this one leans on a tough, street-facing cut that had room for big names and newer voices alike. Beenie Man’s “Bun A Happy Man, ” Bounty Killer’s “The Alliance, ” and Vybz Kartel’s “Playa Hater” sit right alongside sharp turns from Ce’Cile, Delly Ranks, Kiprich, and Sizzla, with the raw-and-edit pairings for Beenie Man, Kid Kurupt, Vybz Kartel, and Ward 21 giving the set a 7-inch-ready feel. The riddim is credited to Byron Murray and Donovan Bennett, and the full set runs to 24 tunes, including a version cut simply titled “Worried. ”
