Wonda Woman Overview

The island beat echoed across streets lined with masqueraders in 2012. That year, the Wonda Woman Riddim became the sound of carnival. The riddim, produced by SHERIFF MUSIC, brought a fresh energy to soca music. SHERIFF MUSIC, known for working with Caribbean artists, put together a collection that stood out from other carnival soundtracks of the time. While many riddims focused on heavy bass or electronic sounds, Wonda Woman Riddim kept a balance of melody and rhythm that felt both traditional and new. Patrice Roberts brought her song, Spread A Little More, to the riddim. Patrice is well known in soca for her hit collaboration "Roll It" with Machel Montano, and she continued her strong carnival presence with this track. Nadia Batson added her voice with Handle It. Nadia is recognized for her songwriting and for reaching the finals of Trinidad and Tobago’s International Soca Monarch competition. Terri Lyons, with We Cya Stop, showed her own style. Terri is the daughter of soca legend Superblue and has won the International Soca Monarch Groovy category. Megan Walrond joined with Fete Forever, adding another layer to the riddim’s joyful sound. Each artist brought something special, but together, they created a soundtrack that festival fans still connect to 2012. The composer of the fete, the producer, played a key role. SHERIFF MUSIC’s careful direction made the riddim memorable. Even years later, people hear these songs and remember the carnival spirit of that year.
