Wild Response Riddim comes off like a lean, no-frills 2011 dancehall cut rather than a big vanity showcase, with just six artists across nine tracks and a tight run that keeps the energy pointed. The draw here is the sound: hard-edged, midtempo bashment with enough space for the vocals to punch through, especially on Bread Krumz’s pair of “Tek It Out” versions and Brik Tearz’s “Tights” takes, where the edit/raw split gives the riddim a little extra bite.
