Yard Tune Production had this one in 2011, and Life Precious Riddim sits right in that rough-edged dancehall pocket where the rhythm does the talking and the voices have to catch up fast. Dj Rinch’s “Man A Galis” is the cut that immediately gives the riddim its swagger, while I Bush on “Tell Me Wat A Go On” and Livity on “Simplicity” keep the same gritty pulse moving with a more laid-back, streetwise feel. There’s a nice contrast across the five-track line-up, with Infamus and Nicha B rounding things out without cluttering the frame, and the whole thing has that compact one-drop-off-dancehall energy that was common in the early 2010s. Short, sharp, and to the point.
