White Squall Riddim – Forever Music

A tough, straight-ahead dancehall cut with just enough melody to keep it moving, White Squall Riddim carries that early-2010s juggling feel where the bassline does the heavy lifting and the vocalists keep the energy shifting. Forever Music line it up with a nice mix of veterans and newer voices: Prezident Brown comes in sharp on “Cramp An Paralise, ” Anthony Red Rose gives “Now Or Never” that seasoned, gravel-edged pull, and the combo cut from Chaka Chaks and Brian Gold keeps things rolling with a smoother, more conversational touch. The set doesn’t lean too far one way; there’s enough hustler talk, lover’s rock color and streetwise flexing across tracks like “Hustle Hard” and “Money World” to keep the juggling varied. But the finish belongs to Prezident Brown, whose opening salvo gives the riddim its clearest charge and sets the tone the rest of the lineup has to chase.
