Westside Riddim (2019) – Vanx Music

Westside Riddim catches that 2019 dancehall moment when the darker, trap-leaning side of the genre was pushing hard, and Vanx Music keeps the beat lean and sharp enough to let each voice cut through. Vaaro’s “50K” and Peebo Bryce’s “Goodie God” sit nicely against GB’s “Different Type Of Girls” and Spatless on “Chapo Settings, ” with the instrumental leaving plenty of room for the low end to do its work. It’s a seven-track set, all told, and the whole thing has that raw roadside feel you’d expect from a riddim built for selectors and quick replay, with Badblood’s “Power” and Immage Bhas’s “Don’t Play With The Food” adding a little extra bite at the end.
