Thirsty Riddim – Salaam Remi

Salaam Remi turns Thirsty Riddim into a sharp little dancehall set with a playful edge, and the opening cut with Busta Rhymes and Majah Hype sets the tone fast: chatty, cheeky, and full of that summer-night pressure. From there, Spragga Benz on “Organic (Like Yuh)” and Alex from T. O. K. on “Look Good” keep the energy moving in different directions, with Nyanda and Ghost adding cleaner melodic touches to the same base. Remi’s hand is easy to hear in the way the riddim keeps its percussion percolating under the vocals, more tugging than pounding, which gives the whole thing a lively bounce without losing the yard feel. It landed in August 2019 as a six-track EP, with “Thirsty” doing the heavy lifting up front.
