Well Govan keeps Ward 98 tight and lean, and that’s part of the appeal: four cuts, four artists, all clocking in around the same quick, radio-ready length on a 2018 dancehall set that never wanders. Lava Lyrically opens the action with “Gimme Dat” alongside Angel Eyes, pushing a flirtatious edge against the rhythm, while Jokoto D’Voice’s “Shake U Yuh Bam Bam” brings the sly, dancefloor motion the title hints at. Fyah Reign takes a more rooted turn on “Gone With Me Heart, ” but it’s Jah Quan’s “Push Through The Struggle” that leaves the deepest mark, cutting through the riddim with a harder, more conscious finish.
