WANT TO BE NO GENERAL RIDDIM produced by CALI BUD PRODUCTION
Want To Be No General Overview
In 1999, a new reggae foundation rhythm was born in the studios of CALI BUD PRODUCTION. The producer, known for his sharp ear and dedication to roots reggae, built this rhythm layer by layer, drawing inspiration from the classic sounds of Jamaica. CALI BUD PRODUCTION had already made a name for itself in the reggae scene, backing artists who valued authentic roots and conscious lyrics. The journey of this rhythm was shaped in the mixing room by the skilled dub engineer, who gave it depth and texture. Every drum hit and bassline was carefully blended, creating a powerful base for vocalists to ride. The studio became a meeting place for talented artists, each bringing their own energy and message. Admiral Tibet, famous for his uplifting lyrics, voiced "Freedom Is Happiness" on the rhythm. Bush Man, known for his hit "Fire Bun a Weak Heart," delivered "I Burn" with strong conviction. Cali Bud himself contributed "Version," showing off the instrumental power of the riddim. Chrisinty added a spiritual touch with "Oh Jah," while Edie Fitzroy, remembered for his roots anthem "Miss Molly Colly," voiced "Jail House." This dub release captured the spirit of 1999 roots reggae, uniting voices and rhythms in a classic style. The foundation rhythm still stands as a symbol of reggae’s strength and unity.
