Twit Riddim – Donshorty Records

Rough-edged energy, and Twit Riddim hits with that quick-twitch dancehall pulse Donshorty Records was pushing in 2012, a compact nine-track set with 12 different voices circling the same idea. Mc Miguel’s “Ay Ay Ay” and Dyman Mc’s “Ou Ka Fe Mwen Wonte” set the tone early, while Namx and Sergent, Ryden, Toupi, and Laydison keep the pace jumping between raw patter and sharper local-flavoured phrasing. The social-media wink in “Twitter Anthem” gives the riddim its most obvious hook, but the cut that leaves the strongest mark is Coco and Zi Mc’s contribution, which rides the pattern with the kind of urgency that makes the whole project feel locked into the street side of dancehall rather than the glossy end.
