Jamaica’s 2012 dancehall circuit was still in that raw, street-side mode when Atila Records put out CV Riddim, a blunt, gun-talk set with just enough playful swagger to keep it moving. John Gibeon’s “Black Smoke Gunpowder” and CV’s own “Have Wi Gun Pan Wi” set the tone, while Atta Klaps comes through with “Affi Reach Di Top” and First Born’s “Babylon” gives the riddim a harder, more confrontational edge.
