Tumba Riddim – Lunatix Productions

2016 was still a fertile moment for groovy soca, and Lunatix Productions used Tumba Riddim to lean into that sweeter, mid-tempo Carnival pressure rather than chase anything overly frantic. The four-track set keeps the arrangement tight and melodic, with the percussion doing the heavy lifting and the hook space left open for singers to ride the groove. Mical Teja’s “Beast” is the sharpest cut here, with GBM Nutron’s “Company” and Silva’s “Up Under Yuh” keeping the energy warm and playful without crowding the rhythm. Lunatix closes the project with its own instrumental, and that bare version makes the ridim’s clean melodic line and bounce easy to hear.
