Bali Riddim sits in the early-2000s soca archive as a tight little two-track set, the kind of compact carnival-side release that leaves no room to drift. The rhythm is bright and propulsive, with a rubbery pulse that suits the road as much as the dance, and the pair of cuts keep the energy pointed upward rather than busy. Bunji Garlin’s “Bunji On Baku” brings the sharper edge, while Treason’s “Kama Sutra” leans into the cheekier, more playful side of the riddim. With just those two voices on the project, VARIOIUS SOCA ARTISTS keeps the focus narrow and the pacing brisk, and the closing Treason cut feels like the natural lock on the whole thing.
