Tranquility Riddim lands as a 2014 dancehall juggling from ZJ Heno Production, a name tied to Kenya’s modern riddim movement and to a producer who has made a career out of serviceable, selector-friendly projects for digital release. The riddim also sits in that broader East African-Caribbean exchange where the beat is local in its momentum but Jamaican in its language and structure.

The sound has a brisk, bright bounce rather than a heavy, rootsy drag. It leaves room for hooks to sit up front, with the drum pattern doing the work and the bass line pushing each cut forward.
